“… The stories are woven
and fortunes are told
The truth is measured by the weight of your gold
The magic lies scattered
on rugs on the ground
Faith is conjured in the night market’s sound

Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood
You can look at yourself
you can look at each other
or you can look at the face, the face of your god…”

~ Loreena McKennitt – Marrakesh night market

Unknowingly and just listening to this song… my imagination was triggered to create this scarf…

This warm and cozy scarf was made using the wet felting technique! Two long however thin layers of orange-red extra fine merino wool from Australia were applied as the basis for the scarf. Its surface was decorated also with extra fine merino wool from Australia in blonde yellow, orange, green-turquoise, and black colors. Its shiny parts were created by using mulberry silk threads in relevant colors.

The scarf measures approximately 175 cm (68.9 in) length and 29-36 cm (11.4-14.2 in) width, thus it is long enough to wrap it twice around your neck! Although made of wool it is so soft, light and smooth that it feels absolutely like silk!
