“Joey, baby – don’t get crazy
Detours. Fences… I get defensive
I know you’ve heard it all before –
so I don’t say it anymore
I just stand by and let you
fight your secret war.
And though I used to wonder why –
I used to cry till I was dry.
Still sometimes I get a strange pain
inside
Oh, Joey, if you’re hurting so am I.
Joey, honey – I got the money
All is forgiven. Listen, listen
And if I seem to be confused
I didn’t mean to be with you.
And when you said I scared you,
well I guess you scared me too.
But we got lucky once before
And I don’t wanna close the door
And if you’re somewhere out there
passed out on the floor.
Oh Joey, I’m not angry anymore…“

I know it’s strange to give this scarf a man’s name… but today it is one of these days that (I) get a strange pain inside… (I) get defensive, scared, hurt. I think this song by Concrete Blonde says more than enough…
This nuno-felted scarf consists of chiffon silk in dark red colour and extra-fine Australian merino wool in a punch of colours; dark red, red, orange, pink, white, light blue, apple green, cypress green! The dark red chiffon silk is used as a basis for the scarf and the wool is applied on the top in order to create the patterning. The patterning incorporates wild winter flowers, at least as I imagine them!
The scarf is created with the wet felting technique. The distinction between this nuno-felted scarf and a simple felted item is that it contains also a different material except from wool, i.e. silk. It measures approximately 160 cm (63 in) length and 32-38 cm (12.6-15 in) width.
The combination of wool in thin layers and silk gives a very light and airy; sometimes even sheer fabric!
As all scarves made by QaraQul also this one is a unique piece!
